Excitement at its best!
The first day was used for preparing the boats and the tackle as well as getting to know the lake. Friday and Saturday were competition days, fishing from 8am to 5pm. Fishing was only allowed from the boat and with artificial lures – Catch and release is a must.
Fishing was quite hard, nevertheless 12 Teams managed to catch all three types of fish, which is a pike, a perch and a pikeperch, on day 1. Czech Team Kajman led the table after day 1, followed by the Romanian Team Relax Duo and the Austrian Team Garmin.
The 2nd day started a bit foggy and without any wind. This seemed to be bad for small fish but good for big fish, as the biggest fish of each type where caught on day 2. The biggest perch with 37 cm from Daniel Maurhart (Predator hunters 2), the biggest Asp with 60cm from (Team NSFT 1), the biggest Zander with 92cm from Daniel Leitner (Team Jackson) and the biggest Pike with 94cm from Andreas Stadler (Team Angelcenter Passau)
The game for the first place was exciting as it could not have been more exciting. The leading Team Kajman got Pike and Perch very quickly and had loads of time for catching pikeperch.
The pursuer fished hard, Team Garmin and Angelsport Kinzl as well as Illex Germany had all 3 fish measured and registered at the end of the day. All afternoon the Romanian Team had been fishing desperately the shallow waters to find pike. Just a few minutes before closing they found a great place and managed to catch 5 pikes on spinnerbaits in a row. With this catch they had a very good position but they didn’t know what the Czech Team did.
Under these circumstances the award ceremony was very exciting for the audience. Unfortunately, for our host country, Team Kajman didn’t catch pikeperch and slipped down to place 6. This pitch was the luck for the Romanian team which reached the first place. Followed by the German Team Angelsport Kinzl and the Austrian Team Garmin.
The Organisation team likes to say thanks for the fairness of all teams. Furthermore we like to thank the sponsors, without which such an event would not be possible. Besides this, we want to say “Thanks” to Radek Matouš, the team of hotel Jestrabi, the guards, Milan Hladik from the Czech fishing union and all other people supported this event.
